Seed Dreaming Mandala (BW033)

The first in a series of Mandalas inspired by the glorious colours and forms Nature through the changing seasons.

The light green is the colour of ivy when the light shines through…

Winter is Seed Dreaming Time when we may nurture the seeds of the year to come. The energy is yin, belonging to the sacred feminine, hidden yet germinating in the darkness.

After designing the Mandala, I found out that Ivy is associated with:

~ The sacred feminine
~ Friendship and fidelity (holds together) and
~ Fertility (forms part of many bridal bouquets),
~ Protection against negativity and disaster
~ With nature, poetry and sacred to Artemis (goddess of the moon, childbirth, wild animals and the hunt), Ariadne (goddess of the Labyrinth - finding one’s way) and Dionysus (de-toxification)
~ Ivy (female) is paired ritually and magically with holly (male)

So when you still feel like being hidden, going slow and in need of nurture, gaze upon the Seed Dreaming Mandala and know you are simply in the rhythm of the season...
